There can be few musical legends that span the generations like the man coming ‘real soon now’ to Bloxwich.
George Hamilton IV (pictured, above) is one of the top names in country and western music, an enduring talent with a genuinely international reputation. And his highly acclaimed Country Gospel Show, which is all set to take place on Saturday 4th August 2012 at the Bookmark Bloxwich Theatre in Elmore Row as part of the Bookmark Bloxwich Live Music Review series of concerts, is surely not to be missed!
Stuart Williams, Vice Chairman of Bloxwich Library Forum, which manages the theatre in partnership with Bloxwich Library, said:
“I was absolutely amazed when Chuck Micallef, a talented Canadian Country singer-songwriter who has become a great friend of both the Forum and our unique local theatre, told me that he had persuaded the legendary George Hamilton IV to take the stage at Bookmark Bloxwich Theatre after travelling all the way from Nashville, Tenessee, USA.
“We are honoured and extremely excited to welcome Mr Hamilton, who is truly the Ambassador of Country Music. Being one of the longest standing members of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, George Hamilton IV is a world-class international performer who has done extensive touring throughout his career, as well as having his own television shows in Canada on the CBC and ‘Folk Meets Country’ for the BBC in the UK.
“With hits like Abilene, Early Morning Rain, Canadian Pacific and Break My Mind, plus dozens more, George has a place deep in the hearts of country fans everywhere, and we can’t wait to meet him in person in little ‘ole Bloxwich!
“We’re also delighted that our own Chuck Micallef will be the special guest of Mr Hamilton as part of an amazing double bill for just £5 per ticket!”
Doors open on 4 August at 7.30pm for an 8pm start, and there is a bar.
Advance booking is highly recommended as this is bound to be a popular show.
