A man has been arrested by police investigating a homophobic assault in Walsall.
The 23-year-old was arrested on Monday morning (12 December) and was later bailed pending further enquiries.
Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the attack which took place at around 2.30am on Saturday 26 November at the Lion Bar and Club, Birchills Street, Birchills.
Meanwhile a number of leads are being followed up as part of the investigation.
Five men made homophobic comments to the 20 year-old male victim who was then punched and kicked several times.
The offenders made off on Birchills Street in the direction of Reedswood. The victim was left with swelling to his right eye.
